Tension
Tension is the force that is transmitted through an object like a cable or rope when it is pulled from forces at opposite ends. At a molecular level, tension happens when atoms or molecules are pulled apart. They then gain electromagnetic potential energy. Tension is also measured in newtons (N).
An aerialist dancer uses ribbons and silk to suspend from and tension is the force that's transmitted through the silk.
